Artificial intelligence (AI) for Christmas? – We are still needed! Yes, we too have tried to use this year’s much-praised “artificial intelligence” (AI) to solve some of your problems and have come to the conclusion that
- it is not reading that educates, but thinking about what you read.
- It’s not just about analyzing the problems correctly, but analyzing the right problems.
- It is not that easy to “feed” AI language models with more than a quarter of a century of (professional) experience.
We are still needed! Certainly next year and certainly the year after next. And that’s a good thing!!! Nevertheless, we do not want to withhold selected results from you that we produced with the support of “artificial intelligence”. You are welcome to continue using these images with the reference “produced with the support of artificial intelligence”. You are also welcome to send us a link to your favorites.
However, the attentive observer will not fail to notice that some of the AI-generated images that we have not further processed contain errors. Errors that could, in extreme cases, lead to component failure in an AI-generated and uncontrolled strength, stability or structural stability analysis…
From January 06, 2024 you can “count on us” again.
Rest assured, no avatar will be talking to you on the phone in the “New Year”, no chatbot will be reading and answering your emails. We will remain old-fashioned human, I can vouch for that.
And unlike far too many of our fellow citizens who are very present in public, the employees of LES GmbH and Ingenieurbüro Dr.-Ing. Gert Lau will neither lament nor obstruct in the New Year, but rather debate without taboos, discuss constructively and simply get on with it. If we all act together in this way, there may still be a chance of leaving our great-grandchildren an intact, clean and debt-free world. Personally, I hope that performance will be much better rewarded again in the New Year and I am proud that my employees get up every day to give their best.
